RIP Neil Armstrong

Hi all,

Growing up I wanted to be an astronaut...to go to Mars. That dream was put aside when I was a Senior in High School and realized that an injury to my eye as a kid meant that was not going to happen.  But space travel has been near and dear to me.  I am too young to remember the moon landing and Neil Armstrong's "small step", but my mom realized the importance of this and put my in front of the TV (I was about 18 months old) so that I could always say that while I don't remember it, I watched it.

Neil Armstrong's death has, of course, brought that occasion to the forefront of our thoughts and I wanted to let my mom know how much it means to me that I am able to say that I watched that, even though I don't remember that.  So I made her a card to tell her that.

The card base is SU's Not Quite Navy and Dustin Pike's digi moon was printed on white cardstock.  The flag is on a toothpick that I got at Hobby Lobby.  I removed the toothpick and used a Sharpie silver paint pen for the flag's staff.

Fab Friday Challenge 03

I have had more free time on my hands lately, so I've been making cards.  This one is for a challenge...the Fab Friday Blog challenge.  It is not the most recent challenge, but #03.  It is this sketch:

And here is my take:

The base is Marco's Paper Carnival Cover.  The giraffe paper is from The Paper Studio's Safari paper pack.  The image is from Local King Rubber Stamps and is from the set "Love Reaches New Heights".
