Sympathy Cards

Unfortunately, I have needed several Sympathy cards this year.

A masculine card for a friend that lost a son.

Another masculine one with a beautiful saying.

Several...the one in the lower right has embossing that doesn't show up very well, so below is a close up photo.

Another Sympathy Card

A coworker lost her sister to cancer last week.  This card is similar to the one I posted a few weeks ago.  I really should make these in advance and always have some ready to go; if I am making it for someone in particular, I find I am often too sad to be creative.  If I make them ahead of time, maybe it won't be so depressing.

I used the All Over The Page punch of the stars and punched the Night of Navy, put it over the yellow and then put it on a Night Of Navy card.  I used a white gel pen for signing it.  The sentiment is stamped in NoN on the yellow and cut out using the Labels 11.

Paper: SU Night of Navy, generic yellow
Ink: SU Night of Navy, white gel pen
Stamp: Inky Antics
Accessories: Martha Stewart's Starry Sky punch, Popdots, Nestabilities Label 11

Sympathy Angel

I love this angel and this sympathy verse and given that it is a Native American saying and a Native American angel, they seem a perfect match.

I used a yellowy color paper that coordinated very well with More Mustard, which is what I used for the angel. Then I overstamped the verse using black. I cut out the black matt with deckle edges. I used the smooth side of the yellowy paper for the angel and then the textured side for the bottom matt.

Stamps: The expression is from SU's Hope for Comfort
The angel is from Stamp A Mania

Paper: American Crafts
Ink: Basic Black and More Mustard from SU

Accessories: Deckle scissors

Friendship Blossom

I made a card that could have been used as a sympathy card two weeks ago, but I didn't realize I'd need it so soon. A friend's son was killed yesterday so I put the finishing touches on it.  My heart just breaks for my friend and her husband.  Somehow a card just isn't enough, but I can put my love and hugs into this for her.

Paper: Baja Breeze from SU, black and white
Ink: Basic Black from SU, Versamark
Accessories: Crystal Effects, Liquid Pearls, white EP, Nesties
Stamps: SU set
